Nexus sends two kinds of push notification, both designed to be worth interrupting you for:
- Approval needed — a skill proposed an action; tapping the notification opens your approvals inbox.
- Run failed — a skill run didn't finish; the notification names the cause. Successful runs stay silent (the dashboard already shows their output, and new cards get their own "New cards" notice).
That's it. No digests, no marketing, no "we miss you."
Turning them on
Notifications are per device — a push subscription belongs to one browser profile, so each device opts in on its own.
- Open Settings → Preferences.
- Under Notifications, check Notify this device.
- Accept the browser's permission prompt.
Repeat on each device you want notified.
iPhone and iPad
iOS only delivers web push to installed apps:
- Open Nexus in Safari.
- Share → Add to Home Screen.
- Open Nexus from the Home Screen icon, then flip on Notify this device in Settings → Preferences.
Two iOS quirks worth knowing:
- The pending-approvals count also appears as a badge on the app icon.
- If you ever delete and re-install the Home Screen app, iOS silently resets its notification permission and subscription. Nexus can't restore it for you — just re-flip Notify this device after reinstalling.
Turning them off
Uncheck Notify this device on the device in question, or revoke notification permission in the browser/OS settings — either works. Dead subscriptions (a browser that's gone, a revoked permission) are pruned automatically on the next send, so you'll never see ghost devices piling up.
